Should you tell a relative they're too fat?
I am of the opinion that it is good to tell a relative that they are too fat. It is important to tell the truth to ones relative but in love. Showing love to ones relative also includes correcting them when they are going on the path that leads to pain, sorrow, devastation and ultimately death. They probably know that they are too fat. Comments and hurtful glances from people would have sunk the fact that they are fat into them. Ignoring them in order to avoid hurting them more is certainly not a sign that you care or that you understand how they feel. In a world full of struggles, hatred and competition, it is difficult to continuously show love to non-enemies, how much more enemies. But God expects Christians to do so. Who are the Christians? Christians are people who are like Christ. God is love and shows love to all. 1John 4:8 says, “He who does not love does not know God, for God is love”, (NKJV). Knowing God and being like Christ is to love people. God's kind of love is the agape love: unconditional love. Jesus showed this love by dying for us while we were yet sinners. ICor13:4-7 defines this love as follows, “Lo... Read more
