Why should Christians love their enemies

In a world full of struggles, hatred and competition, it is difficult to continuously show love to non-enemies, how much more enemies. But God expects Christians to do so. Who are the Christians? Christians are people who are like Christ. God is love and shows love to all. 1John 4:8 says, “He who does not love does not know God, for God is love”, (NKJV).
